열왕기상18-22장

Chapter 18

• 1-15 엘리야와 오바댜 (Elijah and Obadiah)

  3.	and Ahab had summoned Obadiah, who was in charge of his palace. (Obadiah was a devout believer in the LORD.아합이 왕궁 맡은 자 오바댜를 불렀으니 이 오바댜는 여호와를 지극히 경외하는 자라

  13.	Haven't you heard, my lord, what I did while Jezebel was killing the prophets of the LORD? I hid a hundred of the LORD's prophets in two caves, fifty in each, and supplied them with food and water. 이세벨이 여호와의 선지자들을 죽일 때에 내가 여호와의 선지자 중에 백 명을 오십 명씩 굴에 숨기고 떡과 물로 먹인 일이 내 주에게 들리지 아니하였나이까

• 16-40 갈멜산의 엘리야 (Elijah on Mount Carmel)
  

  20.	So Ahab sent word throughout all Israel and assembled the prophets on Mount Carmel.아합이 이에 이스라엘의 모든 자손에게로 사람을 보내 선지자들을 갈멜 산으로 모으니라

  22.	Then Elijah said to them, "I am the only one of the LORD's prophets left, but Baal has four hundred and fifty prophets.엘리야가 백성에게 이르되 여호와의 선지자는 나만 홀로 남았으나 바알의 선지자는 사백오십 명이로다

  29.	Midday passed, and they continued their frantic prophesying until the time for the evening sacrifice. But there was no response, no one answered, no one paid attention 이같이 하여 정오가 지났고 그들이 미친 듯이 떠들어 저녁 소제 드릴 때까지 이르렀으나 아무 소리도 없고 응답하는 자나 돌아보는 자가 아무도 없더라

  38.	Then the fire of the LORD fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench.이에 여호와의 불이 내려서 번제물과 나무와 돌과 흙을 태우고 또 도랑의 물을 핥은지라

  40.	Then Elijah commanded them, "Seize the prophets of Baal. Don't let anyone get away!" They seized them, and Elijah had them brought down to the Kishon Valley and slaughtered there.엘리야가 그들에게 이르되 바알의 선지자를 잡되 그들 중 하나도 도망하지 못하게 하라 하매 곧 잡은지라 엘리야가 그들을 기손 시내로 내려다가 거기서 죽이니라

• 41-46 가뭄이 그침

  45.	Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain came on and Ahab rode off to Jezreel.조금 후에 구름과 바람이 일어나서 하늘이 캄캄해지며 큰 비가 내리는지라 아합이 마차를 타고 이스르엘로 가니

  46.	The power of the LORD came upon Elijah and, tucking his cloak into his belt, he ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel. 여호와의 능력이 엘리야에게 임하매 그가 허리를 동이고 이스르엘로 들어가는 곳까지 아합 앞에서 달려갔더라

Chapter 19

• 1-8 호렙산으로 피신한 에리야 (Elijah Flees to Horeb)

  4.

  while he himself went a day's journey into the desert. He came to a broom tree, sat down under it and prayed that he might die. "I have had enough, LORD," he said. "Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors." 자기 자신은 광야로 들어가 하룻길쯤 가서 한 로뎀 나무 아래에 앉아서 자기가 죽기를 원하여 이르되 여호와여 넉넉하오니 지금 내 생명을 거두시옵소서 나는 내 조상들보다 낫지 못하니이다 하고

• 9-18 주께서 엘이야에게 나타나심 (The Lord Appears to Elijah)

  14.

  He replied, "I have been very zealous for the LORD God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, broken down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too." 그가 대답하되 내가 만군의 하나님 여호와께 열심이 유별하오니 이는 이스라엘 자손이 주의 언약을 버리고 주의 제단을 헐며 칼로 주의 선지자들을 죽였음이오며 오직 나만 남았거늘 그들이 내 생명을 찾아 빼앗으려 하나이다

  18.	Yet I reserve seven thousand in Israel -- all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and all whose mouths have not kissed him."그러나 내가 이스라엘 가운데에 칠천 명을 남기리니 다 바알에게 무릎을 꿇지 아니하고 다 바알에게 입맞추지 아니한 자니라

• 19-21엘리야가 엘리사를 부르다 (The Call of Elisha)

  19.	So Elijah went from there and found Elisha son of Shaphat. He was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen, and he himself was driving the twelfth pair. Elijah went up to him and threw his cloak around him.엘리야가 거기서 떠나 사밧의 아들 엘리사를 만나니 그가 열두 겨릿소를 앞세우고 밭을 가는데 자기는 열두째 겨릿소와 함께 있더라 엘리야가 그리로 건너가서 겉옷을 그의 위에 던졌더니

Chapter 20

• 1-21 벤하다드의 사마리아 침공 (Ben-Hadad Attacks Samaria)

  1.	Now Ben-Hadad king of Aram mustered his entire army. Accompanied by thirty-two kings with their horses and chariots, he went up and besieged Samaria and attacked it.아람의 벤하닷 왕이 그의 군대를 다 모으니 왕 삼십이 명이 그와 함께 있고 또 말과 병거들이 있더라 이에 올라가서 사마리아를 에워싸고 그 곳을 치며

  12.	Ben-Hadad heard this message while he and the kings were drinking in their tents, and he ordered his men: "Prepare to attack." So they prepared to attack the city.그 때에 벤하닷이 왕들과 장막에서 마시다가 이 말을 듣고 그의 신하들에게 이르되 너희는 진영을 치라 하매 곧 성읍을 향하여 진영을 치니라

  21.	The king of Israel advanced and overpowered the horses and chariots and inflicted heavy losses on the Arameans 이스라엘 왕이 나가서 말과 병거를 치고 또 아람 사람을 쳐서 크게 이겼더라 .

• 22-34 벤하다드의 두번째 공격 (Ahab Defeats Ben-Hadad)

  29.	For seven days they camped opposite each other, and on the seventh day the battle was joined. The Israelites inflicted a hundred thousand casualties on the Aramean foot soldiers in one day. 진영이 서로 대치한 지 칠 일이라 일곱째 날에 접전하여 이스라엘 자손이 하루에 아람 보병 십만 명을 죽이매

  34.

  "I will return the cities my father took from your father," Ben-Hadad offered. "You may set up your own market areas in Damascus, as my father did in Samaria." Ahab said, "On the basis of a treaty I will set you free." So he made a treaty with him, and let him go. 벤하닷이 왕께 아뢰되 내 아버지께서 당신의 아버지에게서 빼앗은 모든 성읍을 내가 돌려보내리이다 또 내 아버지께서 사마리아에서 만든 것 같이 당신도 다메섹에서 당신을 위하여 거리를 만드소서 아합이 이르되 내가 이 조약으로 인해 당신을 놓으리라 하고 이에 더불어 조약을 맺고 그를 놓았더라

• 35-43 예언자가 아합을 정죄함 (A Prophet Condemns Ahab)

  42.	He said to the king, "This is what the LORD says: `You have set free a man I had determined should die. Therefore it is your life for his life, your people for his people.'"그가 왕께 아뢰되 여호와의 말씀이 내가 멸하기로 작정한 사람을 네 손으로 놓았은즉 네 목숨은 그의 목숨을 대신하고 네 백성은 그의 백성을 대신하리라 하셨나이다

Chapter 21

• 1-29 나봇의 포도원 (Naboth’s Vineyard)

  4.	So Ahab went home, sullen and angry because Naboth the Jezreelite had said, "I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers." He lay on his bed sulking and refused to eat. 이스르엘 사람 나봇이 아합에게 대답하여 이르기를 내 조상의 유산을 왕께 줄 수 없다 하므로 아합이 근심하고 답답하여 왕궁으로 돌아와 침상에 누워 얼굴을 돌리고 식사를 아니하니

  7.	Jezebel his wife said, "Is this how you act as king over Israel? Get up and eat! Cheer up. I'll get you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite."그의 아내 이세벨이 그에게 이르되 왕이 지금 이스라엘 나라를 다스리시나이까 일어나 식사를 하시고 마음을 즐겁게 하소서 내가 이스르엘 사람 나봇의 포도원을 왕께 드리리이다 하고

  13.

  Then two scoundrels came and sat opposite him and brought charges against Naboth before the people, saying, "Naboth has cursed both God and the king." So they took him outside the city and stoned him to death.때에 불량자 두 사람이 들어와 그의 앞에 앉고 백성 앞에서 나봇에게 대하여 증언을 하여 이르기를 나봇이 하나님과 왕을 저주하였다 하매 무리가 그를 성읍 밖으로 끌고 나가서 돌로 쳐죽이고

  17.	Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite 여호와의 말씀이 디셉 사람 엘리야에게 임하여 이르시되

  22.	I will make your house like that of Jeroboam son of Nebat and that of Baasha son of Ahijah, because you have provoked me to anger and have caused Israel to sin.'또 네 집이 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 집처럼 되게 하고 아히야의 아들 바아사의 집처럼 되게 하리니 이는 네가 나를 노하게 하고 이스라엘이 범죄하게 한 까닭이니라 하셨고

  23.	"And also concerning Jezebel the LORD says: `Dogs will devour Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel. 이세벨에게 대하여도 여호와께서 말씀하여 이르시되 개들이 이스르엘 성읍 곁에서 이세벨을 먹을지라'

Chapter 22

• 1-28 선지자 미가야가 아합에게 경고하다 (Micaiah Prophesies Against Ahab)

  4.	So he asked Jehoshaphat, "Will you go with me to fight against Ramoth Gilead?" Jehoshaphat replied to the king of Israel, "I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses."여호사밧에게 이르되 당신은 나와 함께 길르앗 라못으로 가서 싸우시겠느냐 여호사밧이 이스라엘 왕에게 이르되 나는 당신과 같고 내 백성은 당신의 백성과 같고 내 말들도 당신의 말들과 같으니이다

  20.	And the LORD said, `Who will entice Ahab into attacking Ramoth Gilead and going to his death there?' "One suggested this, and another that. 여호와께서 ‘누가 아합을 속여 길르앗 라못에 올라가서 죽게 하겠느냐?’고 하셨습니다. 그러자 누구는 이렇게 하겠다고 하고 누구는 저렇게 하겠다고 했습니다.

  27.	and say, `This is what the king says: Put this fellow in prison and give him nothing but bread and water until I return safely.'" 내가 말하는데 이자를 감옥에 넣고 내가 무사히 돌아올 때까지 고생의 빵과 고생의 물만 먹이라.

• 29-40 아합의 죽음(Ahab Killed at Ramoth Gilead)

  34.	But someone drew his bow at random and hit the king of Israel between the sections of his armor. The king told his chariot driver, "Wheel around and get me out of the fighting. I've been wounded." 한 사람이 무심코 활을 당겨 이스라엘 왕의 갑옷 솔기를 맞힌지라 왕이 그 병거 모는 자에게 이르되 내가 부상하였으니 네 손을 돌려 내가 전쟁터에서 나가게 하라 하였으나

  38.	They washed the chariot at a pool in Samaria (where the prostitutes bathed), and the dogs licked up his blood, as the word of the LORD had declared.그 병거를 사마리아 못에서 씻으매 개들이 그의 피를 핥았으니 여호와께서 하신 말씀과 같이 되었더라 거기는 창기들이 목욕하는 곳이었더라

• 41-50 유다 왕 여호사밧 (Jehoshaphat King of Judah)

  41.	Jehoshaphat son of Asa became king of Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel 이스라엘의 아합 왕 제사년에 아사의 아들 여호사밧이 유다의 왕이 되니

  43.

  In everything he walked in the ways of his father Asa and did not stray from them; he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD. The high places, however, were not removed, and the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense there .여호사밧이 그의 아버지 아사의 모든 길로 행하며 돌이키지 아니하고 여호와 앞에서 정직히 행하였으나 산당은 폐하지 아니하였으므로 백성이 아직도 산당에서 제사를 드리며 분향하였더라

• 51-53 이스라엘 왕 아하시야 (Ahaziah King of Israel)

  51.	Ahaziah son of Ahab became king of Israel in Samaria in the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and he reigned over Israel two years.유다의 여호사밧 왕 제십칠년에 아합의 아들 아하시야가 사마리아에서 이스라엘의 왕이 되어 이 년 동안 이스라엘을 다스리니라

  52.	He did evil in the eyes of the LORD, because he walked in the ways of his father and mother and in the ways of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin. 그가 여호와 앞에서 악을 행하여 그의 아버지의 길과 그의 어머니의 길과 이스라엘에게 범죄하게 한 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 길로 행하며
