사무엘하 18-20

Chapter 18

• 1-18 압살롬이 패하다 (Absalom is defeated)

  David sent the troops out -- a third under the command of Joab, a third under Joab's brother Abishai son of Zeruiah, and a third under Ittai the Gittite. The king told the troops, "I myself will surely march out with you."다윗이 그의 백성을 내보낼새 삼분의 일은 요압의 휘하에, 삼분의 일은 스루야의 아들 요압의 동생 아비새의 휘하에 넘기고 삼분의 일은 가드 사람 잇대의 휘하에 넘기고 왕이 백성에게 이르되 나도 반드시 너희와 함께 나가리라 하니

  9.

  Now Absalom happened to meet David's men. He was riding his mule, and as the mule went under the thick branches of a large oak, Absalom's head got caught in the tree. He was left hanging in midair, while the mule he was riding kept on going.압살롬이 다윗의 부하들과 마주치니라 압살롬이 노새를 탔는데 그 노새가 큰 상수리나무 번성한 가지 아래로 지날 때에 압살롬의 머리가 그 상수리나무에 걸리매 그가 공중과 그 땅 사이에 달리고 그가 탔던 노새는 그 아래로 빠져나간지라

  14.	Joab said, "I'm not going to wait like this for you." So he took three javelins in his hand and plunged them into Absalom's heart while Absalom was still alive in the oak tree요압이 이르되 나는 너와 같이 지체할 수 없다 하고 손에 작은 창 셋을 가지고 가서 상수리나무 가운데서 아직 살아 있는 압살롬의 심장을 찌르니

• 19-33 압살롬의 죽음과 다윗의 울음 (David Mourns)

  33.

  The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept. As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom! If only I had died instead of you -- O Absalom, my son, my son!왕의 마음이 심히 아파 문 위층으로 올라가서 우니라 그가 올라갈 때에 말하기를 내 아들 압살롬아 내 아들 내 아들 압살롬아 차라리 내가 너를 대신하여 죽었더면, 압살롬 내 아들아 내 아들아 하였더라

Chapter 19

• 1-7 요압이 다윗에게 항의하다 (Joab appealed to David)

  You love those who hate you and hate those who love you. You have made it clear today that the commanders and their men mean nothing to you. I see that you would be pleased if Absalom were alive today and all of us were dead.이는 왕께서 미워하는 자는 사랑하시며 사랑하는 자는 미워하시고 오늘 지휘관들과 부하들을 멸시하심을 나타내심이라 오늘 내가 깨달으니 만일 압살롬이 살고 오늘 우리가 다 죽었더면 왕이 마땅히 여기실 뻔하였나이다

• 8-15 다윗의 귀환 준비 (David's return to Jerusalem)

  14.	He won over the hearts of all the men of Judah as though they were one man. They sent word to the king, "Return, you and all your men.모든 유다 사람들의 마음을 하나 같이 기울게 하매 그들이 왕께 전갈을 보내어 이르되 당신께서는 모든 부하들과 더불어 돌아오소서 한지라

• 16-23 다윗과 시므이 (David and Shimei)

  23.	So the king said to Shimei, "You shall not die." And the king promised him on oath.왕이 시므이에게 이르되 네가 죽지 아니하리라 하고 그에게 맹세하니라

• 24-30 다윗과 므비보셋 (David and mephibosheth)

  24.	Mephibosheth, Saul's grandson, also went down to meet the king. He had not taken care of his feet or trimmed his mustache or washed his clothes from the day the king left until the day he returned safely.사울의 손자 므비보셋이 내려와 왕을 맞으니 그는 왕이 떠난 날부터 평안히 돌아오는 날까지 그의 발을 맵시 내지 아니하며 그의 수염을 깎지 아니하며 옷을 빨지 아니하였더라

• 31-39 다윗과 바르실래 (David and Barzillai)

  32.	Now Barzillai was a very old man, eighty years of age. He had provided for the king during his stay in Mahanaim, for he was a very wealthy man. 바르실래는 매우 늙어 나이가 팔십 세라 그는 큰 부자이므로 왕이 마하나임에 머물 때에 그가 왕을 공궤하였더라

• 40-43 남북의 분쟁

  43.

  Then the men of Israel answered the men of Judah, "We have ten shares in the king; and besides, we have a greater claim on David than you have. So why do you treat us with contempt? Were we not the first to speak of bringing back our king?" But the men of Judah responded even more harshly than the men of Israel. 이스라엘 사람이 유다 사람에게 대답하여 이르되 우리는 왕에 대하여 열 몫을 가졌으니 다윗에게 대하여 너희보다 더욱 관계가 있거늘 너희가 어찌 우리를 멸시하여 우리 왕을 모셔 오는 일에 먼저 우리와 의논하지 아니하였느냐 하나 유다 사람의 말이 이스라엘 사람의 말보다 더 강경하였더라

Chapter 20

• 1-22 세바의 반역 (Sheba Rebels Against David)

  6.	David said to Abishai, "Now Sheba son of Bicri will do us more harm than Absalom did. Take your master's men and pursue him, or he will find fortified cities and escape from us."다윗이 이에 아비새에게 이르되 이제 비그리의 아들 세바가 압살롬보다 우리를 더 해하리니 너는 네 주의 부하들을 데리고 그의 뒤를 쫓아가라 그가 견고한 성읍에 들어가 우리들을 피할까 염려하노라 하매

  22.

  Then the woman went to all the people with her wise advice, and they cut off the head of Sheba son of Bicri and threw it to Joab. So he sounded the trumpet, and his men dispersed from the city, each returning to his home. And Joab went back to the king in Jerusalem.이에 여인이 그의 지혜를 가지고 모든 백성에게 나아가매 그들이 비그리의 아들 세바의 머리를 베어 요압에게 던진지라 이에 요압이 나팔을 불매 무리가 흩어져 성읍에서 물러나 각기 장막으로 돌아가고 요압은 예루살렘으로 돌아와 왕에게 나아가니라

• 23-26 다윗의 관리들 (David’s Officials)

  23.	Joab was over Israel's entire army; Benaiah son of Jehoiada was over the Kerethites and Pelethites요압은 이스라엘 온 군대의 지휘관이 되고 여호야다의 아들 브나야는 그렛 사람과 블렛 사람의 지휘관이 되고;
