- 1-14 다윗이 기브온 사람의 말을 들어 주다 (The Gibeonites Avenged)
1. During the reign of David, there was a famine for three successive years; so David sought the face of the LORD. The LORD said, "It is on account of Saul and his blood-stained house; it is because he put the Gibeonites to death."다윗의 시대에 해를 거듭하여 삼 년 기근이 있으므로 다윗이 여호와 앞에 간구하매 여호와께서 이르시되 이는 사울과 피를 흘린 그의 집으로 말미암음이니 그가 기브온 사람을 죽였음이니라 하시니라 5. They answered the king, "As for the man who destroyed us and plotted against us so that we have been decimated and have no place anywhere in Israel,그들이 왕께 아뢰되 우리를 학살하였고 또 우리를 멸하여 이스라엘 영토 내에 머물지 못하게 하려고 모해한 사람의 6. let seven of his male descendants be given to us to be killed and exposed before the LORD at Gibeah of Saul -- the Lord's chosen one." So the king said, "I will give them to you."자손 일곱 사람을 우리에게 내주소서 여호와께서 택하신 사울의 고을 기브아에서 우리가 그들을 여호와 앞에서 목 매어 달겠나이다 하니 왕이 이르되 내가 내주리라 하니라 - 15-22 블레셋의 거인들을 죽인 다윗의 용사들(Wars Against the Philistines Giants)
22. These four were descendants of Rapha in Gath, and they fell at the hands of David and his men.이 네 사람 가드의 거인족의 소생이 다윗의 손과 그의 부하들의 손에 다 넘어졌더라

2. He said: "The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer 이르되 여호와는 나의 반석이시요 나의 요새시요 나를 위하여 나를 건지시는 자시요; 3. my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior -- from violent men you save me.내가 피할 나의 반석의 하나님이시요 나의 방패시요 나의 구원의 뿔이시요 나의 높은 망대시요 그에게 피할 나의 피난처시요 나의 구원자시라 나를 폭력에서 구원하셨도다 20. He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.나를 또 넓은 곳으로 인도하시고 나를 기뻐하시므로 구원하셨도다

- 1-7 다윗이 마지막으로 당부함 (David’s Last Words)
5. "Is not my house right with God? Has he not made with me an everlasting covenant, arranged and secured in every part? Will he not bring to fruition my salvation and grant me my every desire? 내 집이 하나님 앞에 이같지 아니하냐 하나님이 나와 더불어 영원한 언약을 세우사 만사에 구비하고 견고하게 하셨으니 나의 모든 구원과 나의 모든 소원을 어찌 이루지 아니하시랴 - 8-39 다윗의 용사들 (David’s Mighty Warriors)
8. These are the names of David's mighty men: Josheb-Basshebeth, a Tahkemonite, was chief of the Three; he raised his spear against eight hundred men, whom he killed in one encounter. 다윗의 용사들의 이름은 이러하니라 다그몬 사람 요셉밧세벳이라고도 하고 에센 사람 아디노라고도 하는 자는 군지휘관의 두목이라 그가 단번에 팔백 명을 쳐죽였더라 39. and Uriah the Hittite. There were thirty-seven in all 헷 사람 우리아라 이상 총수가 삼십칠 명이었더라

9. Joab reported the number of the fighting men to the king: In Israel there were eight hundred thousand able-bodied men who could handle a sword, and in Judah five hundred thousand.요압이 백성의 수를 왕께 보고하니 곧 이스라엘에서 칼을 빼는 담대한 자가 팔십만 명이요 유다 사람이 오십만 명이었더라 10. David was conscience-stricken after he had counted the fighting men, and he said to the LORD, "I have sinned greatly in what I have done. Now, O LORD, I beg you, take away the guilt of your servant. I have done a very foolish thing."다윗이 백성을 조사한 후에 그의 마음에 자책하고 다윗이 여호와께 아뢰되 내가 이 일을 행함으로 큰 죄를 범하였나이다 여호와여 이제 간구하옵나니 종의 죄를 사하여 주옵소서 내가 심히 미련하게 행하였나이다 하니라 15. So the LORD sent a plague on Israel from that morning until the end of the time designated, and seventy thousand of the people from Dan to Beersheba died.이에 여호와께서 그 아침부터 정하신 때까지 전염병을 이스라엘에게 내리시니 단에서부터 브엘세바까지 백성의 죽은 자가 칠만 명이라 - 18-25 다윗이 제단을 쌓음(David Builds an Altar)
18. On that day Gad went to David and said to him, "Go up and build an altar to the LORD on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite."이 날에 갓이 다윗에게 이르러 그에게 아뢰되 올라가서 여부스 사람 아라우나의 타작 마당에서 여호와를 위하여 제단을 쌓으소서 하매 25. David built an altar to the LORD there and sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. Then the LORD answered prayer in behalf of the land, and the plague on Israel was stopped. 그 곳에서 여호와를 위하여 제단을 쌓고 번제와 화목제를 드렸더니 이에 여호와께서 그 땅을 위한 기도를 들으시매 이스라엘에게 내리는 재앙이 그쳤더라
