고후 1:23~2:11

1.	So I made up my mind that I would not make another painful visit to you.

이제 나는 또다시 근심 가운데 여러분을 방문하지 않기로 결심했습니다.

2.	For if I grieve you, who is left to make me glad but you whom I have grieved?

만일 내가 여러분을 근심하게 한다면 나로 인해 근심하는 사람 외에 누가 나를 기쁘게 하겠습니까?

3.	I wrote as I did so that when I came I should not be distressed by those who ought to make me rejoice. I had confidence in all of you, that you would all share my joy.

내가 이것을 쓴 것은 내가 갈 때에 마땅히 나를 기쁘게 해 줄 사람들에게 근심이 없게 하려는 것입니다. 나는 내 기쁨이 여러분 모두의 기쁨임을 확신합니다.

4.	For I wrote you out of great distress and anguish of heart and with many tears, not to grieve you but to let you know the depth of my love for you. 나는 큰 환난과 마음의 고통으로 인해 많은 눈물로 여러분에게 썼습니다. 이는 여러분을 근심하게 하려 한 것이 아니라 여러분에 대해 넘치는 사랑이 내게 있음을 알게 하려는 것입니다.

5.	If anyone has caused grief, he has not so much grieved me as he has grieved all of you, to some extent -- not to put it too severely.

만일 누가 근심하게 했다면 그는 나를 근심하게 한 것이 아니라 일부 사람들을 근심하게 한 것입니다. 너무 심한 말을 하지 않으려고 ‘일부 사람들’이라고 했지만 사실은 여러분 모두를 근심하게 한 것입니다.

6.	The punishment inflicted on him by the majority is sufficient for him그러한 사람에게 여러분은 이미 충분한 벌을 내렸습니다..

7.	Now instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow.그러니 여러분은 그가 더 큰 근심에 잠기지 않도록 오히려 그를 용서하고 위로하십시오

8.	I urge you, therefore, to reaffirm your love for him.

그러므로 나는 여러분이 그에게 사랑을 나타내기를 권면합니다

9.	The reason I wrote you was to see if you would stand the test and be obedient in everything.

내가 편지를 쓰는 것은 여러분이 모든 일에 순종하는지 시험해 보려는 것입니다.

10.	If you forgive anyone, I also forgive him. And what I have forgiven -- if there was anything to forgive -- I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake,여러분이 누구에게 무슨 일에 대해 용서한다면 나도 용서합니다. 내가 무엇을 용서했다면 내가 용서한 것은 여러분을 위해 그리스도 앞에서 한 것입니다.

11.	in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes이는 우리가 사탄에게 속지 않으려는 것입니다. 우리는 사탄의 속셈을 모르는 것이 아닙니다.
